The Safety Codes Council is looking for an Associate Vice President, Policy & Engagement to lead a team that helps shape decisions affecting Alberta's safety codes system and the public safety outcomes it supports. This senior leadership role provides strategic oversight of the Council's policy and engagement functions and serves as a trusted advisor on complex issues involving governance, regulation, stakeholder interests, and organizational priorities.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the Council's policy and engagement function, providing strategic advice and decision support on issues that matter to Albertans.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with government, regulators, industry partners, Council bodies, and other key stakeholders.
  • Help navigate complexity, balance diverse perspectives, and translate information into practical recommendations and action.
  • Lead and develop a team of professionals by setting direction, building capability, fostering belonging, and creating the conditions for people and teams to thrive.
  • Influence decisions that support effective governance, public confidence, and the long-term success of Alberta's safety codes system.
