Job summary

The Glencoe Club in Calgary, AB seeks a friendly Member Experience Representative for the front desk. This part-time role welcomes members, answers calls, provides information, processes transactions and ensures a seamless guest experience.

Based at reception, you will cover midday and evening shifts, including weekends. The position requires a customer-focused mindset, organization, and reliable attendance to support events and club operations.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a customer, member or client facing role; Recreational, Club and/or business admin environments, would be considered an asset
  • Professional communication skills and telephone etiquette
  • Knowledgeable in excel, google sheets, and booking and POS systems is considered an asset.
  • A diplomatic, outgoing personality and the ability to foster relationships with members and employees
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Standard First Aid/CPR Level C is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Provide a high level of member service experience that exceeds expectations in all service aspects with prompt friendly greetings, directing, activity bookings, program registration, security and administrative duties as needed
  • Ensure timely and effective two-way communication (verbal, written) between members, staff and Supervisor
  • Ensure members are adhering to rules and regulations, including guest sign-in procedures
  • Apply your problem solving skills across member access issues and providing membership cards/fobs as needed
  • Processing and recording member payments as required
  • Complete introduction letters for members visiting affiliated clubs and verifying members are in good standing
  • Ability to confidently operate with phone systems including transferring, placing calls on hold, emergency response and assisting with long-distance phone calls

We are seeking a friendly, professional, and service-oriented, part-time Member Experience Representatives to join our Member Experience team at The Glencoe Club. In this front-line position, As a Member Experience Representative, you will be the first point of contact for members, guests, and visitors, serving as the face of The Glencoe Club. Based at our front desk, you will welcome members and guests, answer phone calls, provide accurate and up-to-date information, assist with inquiries, process transactions, and help ensure a seamless and positive experience for everyone who enters the Club. This afternoon/ evening position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in creating exceptional experiences for members and guests.

This is a part-time, hourly position reporting to the Member Experience Supervisor. This position will primarily cover reception for Midday and evening shifts, which typically start around 11:00am or 4pm and finish between 7:30 PM and midnight. Flexibility is important, as hours may vary to support events and building operations. Availability on Saturdays and Sundays is required.

Successful applicants will be required to complete a background check as well as Respect in the Workplace online certification prior to commencing employment.

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The Club does not provide assistance with obtaining Canadian work authorization
