Job summary

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre seeks a Clinical Applications Analyst to support Meditech and related clinical systems across the CARE4 hospitals. You will work with Informatics and Technology Services teams to analyze workflows, optimize modules, and coordinate end-user training for clinical applications.

The role requires strong communication, project management awareness, and the ability to manage multiple projects with a focus on patient care and data security.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or diploma in a clinically related field, health informatics or computer science or equivalent or IT related field and/or three years’ experience in Clinical Informatics and Applications Meditech Support Role
• Three-years application development and clinical support experience with hospital information system with an EMR
• Experience with ITIL, Change Management and Project Management philosophies and methodologies
• Experience with Meditech system upgrades and informatics and applications projects and implementations
• Experience with Mirth Integration and HL7/XML
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office
• Experience with business analysis and requirements documentation is an asset
• Experience with analyzing data to identify trends, gaps and information that can drive positive change
• Strong understanding of privacy legislation and application to systems and technologies in Health Care
• Understanding of a risk matrix and risk mitigation strategies
• Healthcare experience is required
• Meditech applications support and user support
• Microsoft Suite of Products, VMware, Windows OS, Mirth certified preferred, Biztalk, HL7 standards
• Project Management & Change Management Certified preferred
• Adult Teaching or Training certificate
• Customer Services courses an asset
• Leadership courses
• Excellent customer relations and support service
• RVH values and professional demeanor in interactions

Responsibilities

• Analysis of user-departmental workflow processes and translate into systems-based efficiencies through automation
• Optimize application features and functionality to meet end-user requirements and facilitate workflow processes
• Coordinate training and support departmental trainers for application(s) and provide training as required for Meditech systems
