Job description

Position Summary

Are you a registered Radiological Technologist looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Radiology department.

In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, working under general supervision and practicing in accordance with the standards of professional practice and the vision and values of Northern Health, performs radiographic/fluoroscopic and related duties working in conjunction with radiologists, physicians, and other health care professionals.

On Call associated with certain shifts. Fully funded CT training offered.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days, Evenings - 07:30 to 15:30, 08:00 to 16:00, 09:00 to 17:00, 11:00 to 19:00, 16:00 to 00:00, 18:00 to 02:00, Rotating

Fort St. John Hospital and Health Centre has 44 Acute Care beds and 124 residential beds and is equipped to handle 22,000 ER visits per year. Some highlights about the hospital include:

  • Endoscopy suite, 2 state-of-the-art operating rooms, plus a procedure room
  • Ambulatory clinics including Cancer and Hemodialysis
  • Medical and Surgical inpatient rooms (40 beds)
  • 3 Intensive care units
  • Minor surgeries
  • 7 single Maternity rooms for Labour, Delivery, and Post-Partum

Fort St. John also has the Health Unit and Primary Care Clinic which serve the community.

Fort St. John is known as "The Energetic City," reflecting its large resource base of oil, natural gas, forestry, and agriculture. Overlooking the Peace River, the town is located above the Peace River Valley and serves as the capital of the Peace River district. The population exceeds 21,400, servicing an area of approximately 70,000. The community features a cultural centre, library, theatre, art space, seven elementary schools, two middle schools, one secondary school, and a Northern Lights College campus.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited medical radiography program.
  • Current certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) and eligible for membership with the BC Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (BCAMRT) and/or CAMRT.
