• One year of related experience or an equivalent combination.
• Canadian Driver’s License as required by position.
• Typing speed of 25 WPM with a dated 5-minute invigilated test within past 48 months (not self-administered).

• Take blood and specimen samples from patients and prepare for analysis.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and distribute specimens to departments.
• Enter data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and perform related clerical duties and ECG testing as required.

About the Job

Medical Laboratory Assistants perform a variety of duties such as taking blood and specimen samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing routine laboratory tests, distributing specimens to departments and outside Laboratories, operating related equipment, entering data into the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required.

This is a Permanent Full Time (1.0) opportunity.

Shifts of work will be scheduled day and evening shifts.
