About The Job

The Creston Valley Hospital & Health Centre is a Level 1 Community Hospital in the East Kootenay health service area. Located in Creston, southeast B.C., between Osoyoos and Cranbrook, the hospital offers services including surgical, inpatient and emergency.

Medical Laboratory Assistants perform a variety of duties such as taking blood and specimen samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing routine laboratory tests, distributing specimens to departments and outside Laboratories, operating related equipment, entering data into the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required.

This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means hours are not guaranteed and may vary and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent and temporary positions. There are many opportunities with Interior Health that begin with casual employment and lead to regular employment.

Shifts of work will be scheduled rotating days.
