Job Title : Medical Lab Technologist - Subject Matter Expert

Location : Nanaimo or Kelowna Campus (Preferred) | Potential to work out of Surrey Campus

About the Role :

A dynamic opportunity has opened at Discover Community College, seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Subject Matter Expert (SME) in medical laboratory technology. This role involves supporting curriculum development and mapping, ensuring competency alignment, providing guidance in laboratory setup, and assisting in the accreditation process.

This part-time role offers 10-15 hours per week and has the potential to lead to future instructional opportunities, advancing your career in education.

Rate Range : $35-48 / hour

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop and map curriculum to align with program competencies.
• Offer expertise in laboratory setup and management.
• Support the accreditation process for the program.
• Collaborate with Business Development Strategist to enhance program quality and delivery.

Qualifications :

• College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, with a preference to certification from organizations like the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS).
• Current or recent experience as a medical lab technologist.
• Deep understanding of curriculum development and accreditation standards.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Enthusiastic about shaping the future of medical laboratory education.

Preferred Location : Nanaimo or Kelowna Campus. Flexibility to work out of Surrey location if needed.
