Job Posting : Medical Laboratory Technologist

Location : Downtown Kelowna

Type : permanent part-time (22.5 hours per week) working a rotational schedule, 7 : 00am to 9 : 00pm.

We’re looking for a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Core Lab team in Kelowna, BC. You will be responsible for delivering in a timely manner the highest level of clinical and scientific quality to everyone we serve with a variety of testing using the latest technology. Your contributions will make a difference – the results and reports you deliver will be provided to physicians and greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone’s life.

How YOU will make a difference :

• Ensuring sample identification is correct and specimen requirements are met according to establishedprocedures.
• Performing routine testing duties within Chemistry and Hematology which includes but not limited to analyzer maintenance, calibration, QC andtroubleshooting.
• Ensuring quality control standards are maintained, investigating missing samples and performing routine maintenance on laboratoryequipment.
• Recording, interpreting and / or approving testresults.
• Identifying and reporting of incidents and non-conformities

What YOU bring to the role :

• You thrive independently, applying sound decision making principlesand ability to self-manage in fast-pacedenvironment
• You bring a high level of interpersonal skills and you are a natural fit within a collaborative working environment
• Carry a CSMLS Registration as a practicing Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level
• Solid ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution
• Nice to have : working experience in the Chemistry or Hematology field, knowledge and understanding of Diagnostic Accreditation standards.
