Job summary

Northern Health is seeking a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician for a part-time role at Ksyen Regional Hospital in Terrace. The position involves decontamination, sterilization, reassembly, testing and distribution of instruments across hospital areas, with clerical duties as needed.

Under supervision, you will ensure accurate record keeping and adherence to mission, values and priorities of Northern Health, while working a rotating day/evening schedule to support patient care in the region.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with recognized Medical Device Reprocessing course and 1 year of related experience.
• Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology.
• Ability to communicate and operate related equipment.

Job description

Position Summary

We are currently looking for a hard working and dedicated Medical Device Reprocessing Technician to fill a PT position at the Ksyen Regional Hospital.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position performs a series of detailed technical duties related to the decontamination, sterilization, reassembly, function testing and distribution of medical and/or surgical supplies and instruments for various areas of the hospital; and performs related clerical duties and record keeping.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work:

Days, Evenings, 07:30 to 15:30, 08:00 to 16:00, 09:00 to 17:00, 11:00 to 19:00 (rotating)

Qualfications

• Grade 12, successful completion of a recognized Medical Device Reprocessing course, plus one (1) year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills and Abilities:
