CanPrev is seeking a Media Buyer to orchestrate growth-driven media investments across programmatic and traditional channels. You will negotiate placements, optimize spend, and ensure alignment with growth strategies, while collaborating with creative and analytics teams to maximize brand impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Marketing, Advertising, Business, Communications, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in media buying, planning, or growth marketing across both traditional and digital channels.
  • Hands-on experience managing multi-channel campaigns, including DSP, OOH/DOOH, audio, and print media.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to execute integrated marketing campaigns.

Job description

The Media Buyer plays a key role in driving growth marketing initiatives by managing the acquisition of advertising inventory across programmatic and non-programmatic channels. This role is responsible for the negotiation, placement, and optimization of media spend to maximize brand visibility, scale audiences efficiently, and support business growth. The Media Buyer combines data-driven execution with the relationship management required for direct placements, ensuring every investment aligns with broader growth marketing objectives and delivers cohesive, high-impact brand presence.

Core Responsibilities:
Media Planning and Allocation
  • Develop and execute comprehensive media buying strategies that align with brand objectives to drive awareness, household penetration, and measurable growth.
  • Plan, negotiate, and manage media buys across a diverse mix of offline channels and programmatic environments, including TV, radio, print, podcasts, OOH/DOOH, and programmatic display platforms.
  • Conduct market research and spatial analysis to identify high-impact placements that maximize reach within key demographic and geographic hubs.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Growth Strategy to determine optimal budget allocation across channels to ensure an effective and balanced media mix.
Integrated Ecosystem Management
  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of programmatic display and video campaigns, leveraging Demand-Side Platforms (DSPs) to optimize real-time bidding strategies and performance analysis.
  • Monitor and refine private marketplace (PMP) deals and direct programmatic buys to ensure brand safety and inventory quality.
  • Implements advanced frequency capping and cross-device attribution models to enhance the efficiency of the digital media spend.
  • Partner closely with internal teams and creative stakeholders to align messaging, creative assets, and media placements with consistent brand direction and presentation.
Vendor Relations and Contract Negotiation
  • Lead relationships with external media vendors, agencies, and publishers, negotiating competitive rates and value-add opportunities.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of media contracts, ensuring all deliverables, posting dates, and production specifications are met.
  • Evaluate emerging media opportunities and technologies to maintain a competitive edge and unlock new paid media growth channels.
Performance Auditing and Reporting
  • Monitor campaign performance and conduct post-buy analysis, delivering insights and recommendations to inform future strategy.
  • Synthesize complex circulation data, foot-traffic attribution, and programmatic metrics to quantify the impact of top-of-funnel investments.
  • Analyze the correlation between media investment and brand lift, adjusting future buying cycles based on historical performance and market fluctuations.
