Job summary

Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) seeks a part-time Media Asset Management team member to support content workflows for in-arena, broadcast, and digital platforms. You will handle various media assets, metadata tagging, and archive processes in a fast-paced sports entertainment environment.

The role requires knowledge of asset management, MAM/DAM systems, and Adobe Creative Suite tools, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as schedules demand.

Qualifications

  • Experience or education in information sciences, asset management, broadcast, sports management, or media/communications.
  • Graphic design experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Knowledge of video/image formats and codecs.
  • Familiarity with MAM/DAM systems (Vidispine, Telestream, Tenovos, etc.) is an asset.
  • Fan or coaching knowledge of football, basketball, hockey, or soccer is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines amid changing plans or information.
  • Hybrid work model; on-site training for the first 3 months, then remote options.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure media assets pass quality control and are delivered for broadcast or digital platforms by deadlines.
  • Coordinate transmission needs with Production and schedule recordings.
  • Maintain storage, perform edits in Adobe Premiere or Dalet OneCut as needed.
  • Assign metadata using Dalet Sports Logger and other tools per schema for permanent archive.
  • Search, retrieve, and respond to internal and external asset requests; manage archiving workflow.

Number of hours will vary depending on experience and our pro team schedules.RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure various types of media assets pass corporate quality control standards and are delivered for broadcast or trafficking by deadline, including (but not limited to) video assets for linear broadcast on NBATV Canada and external partner networks; video assets for broadcast on social media and web; and image or motion assets for digital signageCoordinate transmission needs with Production, schedule recordings and monitor incoming feeds for edit and archive as well as outgoing feeds for linear broadcast or streaming live on our team mobile apps and websitesPerform various tasks associated with our ongoing Production storage management effort such as accuming, trimming, and basic maintenance edits using Adobe Premiere or Dalet OneCutAssign searchable game-play specific metadata to our teams’ most valuable video assets using Dalet Sports Logger and other searchable metadata to all media assets stored for permanent archive according to our metadata schema standards using Dalet Asset ManagerSearch and retrieve archived content as per various internal requests from Production, Game Operations, and Marketing as well as external requests from Global Partnerships, other linear networks, team alumnus, etc.QUALIFICATIONSExperience and/or education in information sciences (asset management), broadcast, sports management, or media/communicationsExperience and/or education in graphic design, ideally with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, Encoder, Illustrator) is as assetKnowledge of video and image formats and codecsExperience with Vidispine, Telestream, Tenovos, or other MAM and DAM systems is an assetFan, rec player, or coaching level knowledge of football, basketball, hockey, and soccerExcellent communication skills, written and verbalAbility to multi-task and meet various deadlines as well as deal with frequent changes in plan or direction as news develops or new information becomes availableMust be flexible at times to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required given MLSE’s evolving event-based scheduleA positive, winning approach, incorporating integrity, confidentiality, and discretionWork in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety ActHybrid work model. Must be available to work in office during the initial 3 month training. After training must have the ability to work remotely at an appropriate work setting. Example: desk or table with mouse/keyboard and stable internet connectionAfter training period is completed, role will focus on covering evening, night, and weekend shiftsAbility to work independently as well as communicate thoroughly through email, as well as communication programs such as WebEx and SlackMust be available for a minimum of 16 hrs per week with a maximum of 32 hrs per weekPlease note: the shift are a minimum 16 hours to maximum 32 hours per week, between 9:00 am – 2:00 am, Monday to Friday.
