Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Partnership (MLSE) is seeking a part-time Media Asset Management team member to support content workflows across broadcast, digital, and in-arena platforms. You will ensure media assets pass quality checks, coordinate transmissions, and assist with storage management and metadata tagging.

Role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as schedules demand, with hybrid work after a 3-month in-office training.

Qualifications

  • Experience or education in information sciences, asset management, broadcast, sports management, or media/communications.
  • Experience or education in graphic design, ideally with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, Encoder, Illustrator).
  • Knowledge of video and image formats and codecs.
  • Experience with MAM/DAM systems (Vidispine, Telestream, Tenovos, Dalet) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure media assets meet quality control standards and are delivered for broadcast or trafficking by deadlines.
  • Coordinate transmission needs with Production and schedule recordings; monitor feeds for edit/archive and for streaming.
  • Perform storage management tasks such as accuming, trimming, and basic edits using Adobe Premiere or Dalet OneCut.
  • Assign metadata to assets using Dalet Sports Logger and other systems.
  • Search and retrieve archived content for internal or external requests.

Job Description As a part-time member of MLSE’s Media Asset Management Team, you will help with all stages of our content workflows to meet our goal to bring world-class content to our fans in-arena, on television, on the web and on social media. Number of hours will vary depending on experience and our pro team schedules.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure various types of media assets pass corporate quality control standards and are delivered for broadcast or trafficking by deadline, including (but not limited to) video assets for linear broadcast on NBATV Canada and external partner networks; video assets for broadcast on social media and web; and image or motion assets for digital signage
  • Coordinate transmission needs with Production, schedule recordings and monitor incoming feeds for edit and archive as well as outgoing feeds for linear broadcast or streaming live on our team mobile apps and websites
  • Perform various tasks associated with our ongoing Production storage management effort such as accuming, trimming, and basic maintenance edits using Adobe Premiere or Dalet OneCut
  • Assign searchable game-play specific metadata to our teams’ most valuable video assets using Dalet Sports Logger and other searchable metadata to all media assets stored for permanent archive according to our metadata schema standards using Dalet Asset Manager
  • Search and retrieve archived content as per various internal requests from Production, Game Operations, and Marketing as well as external requests from Global Partnerships, other linear networks, team alumnus, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience and/or education in information sciences (asset management), broadcast, sports management, or media/communications
  • Experience and/or education in graphic design, ideally with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, Encoder, Illustrator) is as asset
  • Knowledge of video and image formats and codecs
  • Experience with Vidispine, Telestream, Tenovos, or other MAM and DAM systems is an asset
  • Fan, rec player, or coaching level knowledge of football, basketball, hockey, and soccer
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task and meet various deadlines as well as deal with frequent changes in plan or direction as news develops or new information becomes available
  • Must be flexible at times to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required given MLSE’s evolving event-based schedule
  • A positive, winning approach, incorporating integrity, confidentiality, and discretion
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act

Hybrid work model. Must be available to work in office during the initial 3 month training. After training must have the ability to work remotely at an appropriate work setting. Example: desk or table with mouse/keyboard and stable internet connection After training period is completed, role will focus on covering evening, night, and weekend shifts Ability to work independently as well as communicate thoroughly through email, as well as communication programs such as WebEx and Slack Must be available for a minimum of 16 hrs per week with a maximum of 32 hrs per week Please note: the shift are a minimum 16 hours to maximum 32 hours per week, between 9:00 am – 2:00 am, Monday to Friday. Shifts can be assigned for 9am-5pm, 11am-7pm, 3pm-10pm, 5pm-1am, or 6pm-2am depending on need.

Job Posting Compensation Range/Rate: $21.01 / hour
