Job summary

Black & McDonald Limited is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager in New Brunswick to oversee and coordinate mechanical and multi-trades projects from inception to completion. You will develop plans, manage budgets, forecast finances, and lead cross-functional teams of engineers, technicians, and contractors.

The role requires strong PM skills, knowledge of codes, and safety emphasis, with opportunities to advance and contribute to high-quality, safe project delivery across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a construction diploma or related field experience.
• PMP Certification or related diploma would be considered an asset.
• Experience managing teams and/or contractor relationships.
• Experience coordinating procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.
• Ability to identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to reduce schedule impacts, cost overruns, and operational disruptions.
• Experience managing subcontractor performance, scope execution, contract compliance, and project deliverables.
• Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Knowledge of codes and regulations.
• AutoCAD and Revit experience would be considered an asset.
• Previous Procore experience an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, schedule creation, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
• Create and manage project budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Manage a project’s financial performance by way of forecasting, cost control, change orders, billing and reporting.
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors.
• Possess a strong understanding of Construction and engineering principles, National Plumbing Code and industry standards.
• Effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project goals are met.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet specifications.
• Adhere to safety regulations and enforce safety protocols on the job site.
• Identify and resolve project issues and challenges in a timely manner.
