Job summary

CoolIT, An Ecolab Company, based in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a full-time Mechanical Laboratory Technician to support everyday activities in the Liquid Lab. You will assemble prototypes, prepare testing setups, and maintain large lab equipment such as chillers and cooling towers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related work experience in prototyping, plumbing, hydronics, HVAC/Refrigeration or machining.
• Ability to think outside the box for non-common problems and provide quick, cost-effective solutions.
• Desire to constantly learn new skills and work in a fast-paced tech environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble prototypes using off the shelf, pre-designed and custom parts based on engineer specifications.
• Prepare prototypes for testing including disassembling, assembling, wiring, and filling with coolant.
• Participate in brainstorming for in-house built equipment from design to component selection.
• Maintain large infrastructure equipment such as chillers, cooling towers, and thermal chambers.
