Job summary

Elk Valley Resources offers a Mechanical Engineering internship starting January 2027 for an 8 or 12 month term in British Columbia. The role supports maintenance projects, safety programs, and design work with engineers on site.

You will gain hands-on experience in processing plants and mining equipment, while developing technical skills and professional relationships within EVR and its teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication; able to convey complex ideas.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
• Coordinate maintenance projects in a processing plant, water treatment facility or mobile maintenance with heavy mining equipment.
• Organize, schedule and monitor the status of maintenance projects.
• Monitor project budgets and identify inefficiencies and propose cost-saving solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering to produce detailed designs for mechanical projects on site.
• Support reliability maintenance initiatives including failure analysis.
• Create and evaluate ideas to improve business operations.
