Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) is offering an undergraduate co-op position in geotechnical engineering, starting January 2027 for 8 or 12 months, on-site in British Columbia. The role provides hands-on experience with pit slope assessments, rockfall analyses and monitoring under EVR's Technical Services team.

You will work with consultants and senior geotechnical engineers, perform field mapping, ensure health and safety compliance, and contribute to model updates while exploring career development

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Geological or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
• Able to operate vehicles in various weather conditions and terrains.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical assessments for pit slope excavations and waste rock dumps.
• Collaborate with consultants and senior geotechnical engineers on design work.
• Conduct stability and rockfall analyses for slopes.
• Assist with quarterly geological model updates and reconciliations.
• Conduct mapping and sampling in all weather conditions.
• Support monitoring, data interpretation and risk management.
