PCL Constructors Canada Inc. in Toronto is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Estimating Student for a 4-to-8 month assignment starting January 2027.

Based at our Toronto District office, you will contribute to estimating activities, learn our manuals, systems and forms, and support bid preparation. Candidates should have coursework in building envelope or building science, ability to read drawings, and familiarity with common software tools.

Qualificações

• Candidates must have taken a building envelope or building science course and understand the fundamental control layers required within the building envelope (air, water, vapour and thermal control).
• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment, able to read architectural drawings, and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.

Responsabilidades

• Understand and utilize PCL’s estimating manuals, systems and forms.
• Review quantity survey assignment with lead estimator or Chief Estimator.
• Get the chance to perform assigned quantity survey and transfer quantities to the lead estimator.
• Provide quantities of major purchase items to purchasing department for pricing.
• Create an impact by performing general subtrade solicitation duties and helping with bid document control.
• Have the opportunity to perform bid day assignments.
• Experience visiting the job sites periodically.
• Develop relationships with subcontractors.
• Performs other duties as required.
