Job summary

Stantec Vancouver is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to diverse building projects, from commercial developments to municipal facilities. You will design and coordinate mechanical systems, prepare drawings, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.

The role emphasizes design in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, adherence to codes, and use of REVIT. A BC license or plan to obtain one is preferred, and strong communication and time-management skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering with BC license or plan to obtain.
• Experience designing building mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection).
• Familiarity with codes and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare contract drawings, schematics, schedules, details from concept to construction.
• Assist in design of mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection) per codes.
• Review equipment selections, perform preliminary engineering calculations, develop designs.
• Produce mechanical design and drawings in REVIT and other software.
• Follow production guidelines and project standards in drafting.
• Collaborate with engineers to achieve project objectives and resolve issues.
• Ensure quality and integrity of electronic handover deliverables.
• Assist with field reviews, RFIs, shop drawings, and site instructions/changes.
• Perform field surveys for drawing development and as-built records.
• Conduct thorough quality control of construction documents.
• Contribute as a team member within a multi-discipline group.
• Communicate with team and adhere to Stantec standards and schedules.
• Understand and execute Stantec's quality control guidelines.
• Comply with HSSE program and emphasize safety in the field.
