Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in Ottawa is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team focused on industrial, healthcare, commercial and educational projects.

You will assist in designing building mechanical systems, prepare calculations, and produce REVIT MEP and AutoCAD drawings under guidance from senior engineers. The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, basic knowledge of Revit/AutoCAD, and willingness to travel within Canada.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or closely related field.
• Eligibility to apply for PSPC Secret Clearance is required.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP is an asset.
• Experience with building mechanical systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of building mechanical systems including HVAC, hydronics, plumbing, fuels, industrial ventilation, controls, and fire protection.
• Prepare detailed engineering design calculations and contract drawings.
• Produce mechanical drawings in REVIT MEP and AutoCAD.
• Review equipment selections and perform preliminary engineering calculations.
• Communicate with team members to ensure timely project delivery and quality.
