Job summary

Stantec’s Vancouver office seeks a Mechanical Designer to support the development of contract drawings from concept through construction. You will work with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection disciplines in a dynamic team environment.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering and familiarity with building codes. Proficiency in REVIT and MS Office is expected, with opportunities for professional growth and field collaboration.

Qualifications

• Ability to work as a contributing team member within a multi-discipline team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to coordinate with colleagues and staff.
• Knowledge of National Building Code, National Plumbing Code, and related standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare contract drawings, schematics, schedules, details, and sketches from conceptual design through to construction.
• Assist in the design of mechanical systems including HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection.
• Review equipment selections, perform preliminary engineering calculations, and develop preliminary designs.
• Produce mechanical design drawings in REVIT and other software.
• Support field reviews, shop drawing reviews, and RFIs as part of construction administration.
