Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Assembly Engineer for our client in Kimberley, BC. The role focuses on hands-on assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of complex mechanical systems and prototypes to translate designs into functional hardware.

You will collaborate with design and manufacturing teams, applying mechanical principles and precise assembly techniques, contributing to manufacturing readiness and product quality in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical assembly, testing, or manufacturing support.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Understanding of mechanical drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
  • Experience with testing equipment and data acquisition is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, integrate, and test mechanical prototypes and production units according to engineering specifications.
  • Develop and refine assembly procedures and work instructions for manufacturing and R&D teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues encountered during assembly and testing phases.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to provide feedback on manufacturability and assembly ease.
  • Perform quality checks and ensure all assemblies meet required standards and tolerances.
  • Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, test results, and component inventory.

About the Role
