Job summary

StandardAero in Winnipeg is seeking a Mechanic - Test Cell to overhaul gas turbine engines and support inspection, disassembly, and documentation processes. The role requires coordination with maintenance teams and adherence to aviation standards for safety and quality.

You will read manuals and perform pre-test inspections, rig/derig engines, and maintain thorough records. A strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance or related field.
  • 3+ years of engine repair experience.
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and drawings.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.

Mechanic - Test Cell

Job Location: Winnipeg

Shift work: Evenings 2:00PM -12:00 AM (Fulltime Mon -Thursday 4X10)

As a Mechanic (Test Cell) - M250 Engine line , you’ll repair and overhaul gas turbine engines while supporting inspection, disassembly, and documentation processes to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with aviation standards.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform pre test inspections of modules or engines for test. Rig and derig engines and modules for test.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and blueprints to determine proper procedures
  • Complete documentation and maintenance records with a high degree of accuracy
  • Follow all aviation safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Work both independently and collaboratively to meet quality and production targets
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Identify and report defects, discrepancies, or non-conformances
Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ Years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance, engine repair, or related field
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg), with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Mechanical ability and ability to retain information required for the operation of the test cell systems
  • 3+ Years of experience reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision in a production or maintenance environment
Desired Skills
  • Basic knowledge of gas turbine engines and related components
  • Previous experience with engine induction and dismantling processes
  • FAA Powerplant certification (or equivalent)
  • Strong attention to detail in documentation and inspection tasks
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
