Job summary

GFL Environmental is seeking an experienced Commercial Transport Mechanic to join our Kamloops team. You will maintain and repair company-owned heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment, with an emphasis on OEM standards and in-house repairs.

The role includes extensive training opportunities (CNG, CVIP, Class 3 driver) and a supportive environment. You will work with advanced Telematics, digital workflows, and a strong team intent on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Certification or equivalent qualification in Commercial Transport Mechanics.
• Hydraulic diagnostic experience.
• Cummins, Mack and Allison experience preferred.
• Cummins Insite, Mack Tech Tool, Allison DOC and Isuzu IDSS software experience.
• Basic hand tools up to and including 1/2.

Responsibilities

• Safely repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment.
• Ability to maintain Standard Repair Times.
• Assist Shop Lead Hands in training and growing our apprentice base.
• Complete thorough and accurate Preventative Maintenance forms.
• Keep accurate work notes and complete work orders on time in the Fleet Management Software system.
• Effectively repair and communicate with drivers through use of Electronic DVIRs
• Is reliable, responsible for your work & has the right attitude to perform assigned tasks.
• Takes direction and communicates well with shift Supervisor or Lead Hand
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.

GFL Environmental is looking for an experienced Commercial Transport Mechanic to join our team in Kamloops, British Columbia!The ideal candidate will enjoy an innovative and positive work environment that is team orientated and supportive of opportunities for growth and development.

The GFL maintenance department is responsible for over 150 on-road collection and support vehicles in and around the Victoria area. Our units are diverse and complex and we pride ourselves on completing the majority of repairs in-house. Along with your current Red Seal Certification, GFL will provide you with a BC Provincial CVI certification and certifications in CNG fuel systems andsafety.As a GFL technician, you will thrive on the edge of innovation as we continue to add new Telematics and Software to units and shops for paperless workflow and increased productivity. Specialty tooling and electronic diagnostics keep all avenues of repair available to our techs to encourage thorough and accurate repairs to OEM standards.
