Job summary

GFL Environmental in Victoria, BC is seeking a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician who is a Red Seal/Certified Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet. You will work on trucks and motorized equipment, ensuring safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma desired.
• 1+ year experience as a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic.
• Safety-sensitive functions as per company standards.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions, work independently, and maintain records.
• Willingness to operate any vehicle or equipment necessary for the job.
• Physical effort including pushing, pulling, bending and lifting up to 100 lbs.
• Fine motor coordination and dexterity in arms, hands, fingers, and legs.
• Ability to kneel, crawl and climb.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and perform maintenance on fleet equipment to ensure reliability.
• Rebuild and troubleshoot heavy duty systems and components.
• Adhere to safety policies and document work in required records.

What’s Required

Mechanics must have:
