Job summary

Independent Grocers Alliance in Montreal, QC is looking for a meat wrapper. You will pack, weigh, label, and price merchandise, and place items attractively in counters and displays. Training courses are provided to develop skills and advancement opportunities.

Even without previous meat-wrapping experience, enthusiasm for learning and customer service experience in retail is welcomed. A high school diploma or equivalent is required and a day shift is offered.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Willing to learn and grow through training courses.

Responsibilities

• As a meat wrapper, you will pack, weigh, label merchandise and make price changes according to established standards.
• Place merchandise attractively in counters and displays; ensure items are presented neatly.
• Promote sales by suggesting complementary and/or alternative products to consumers.

What might a typical day look like?

As a meat wrapper, you will be required to:

• pack, weigh, label merchandise and make price changes according to established standards;
• stamp the product (weight, identification, price per kilo, etc.)
• place merchandise attractively in counters and displays;
• promote sales by suggesting complementary and/or alternative products to consumers.
