Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a State Grants Program Specialist Senior to develop and administer grant programs for Minnesota Veterans and families. The role involves implementing coordination, training, monitoring, and ensuring compliance with state and federal rules.
The position supports grant delivery systems, analyzes financials, and collaborates with internal staff and external partners to align with MDVA goals. Telework is eligible with in-person work at least 50% of days.

This position provides professional expertise in the development, implementation, coordination, and administration of Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA) state grant programs that support Minnesota Veterans and their families. Under limited supervision, the position is responsible for managing comprehensive and technical grant programs and ensuring their effective, efficient, and compliant administration.
The position supports the development of program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures; administers grant programs and related activities; provides training and technical assistance to internal and external grantees; monitors grantee performance and compliance; and coordinates grant activities across programs and stakeholders.
This position also provides expertise in the design, documentation, implementation, and management of grant delivery systems. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal laws, rules, policies, and grant requirements; assessing and monitoring financial assistance activities; evaluating grant program effectiveness; and identifying opportunities to improve program operations, accountability, and outcomes.
The position works collaboratively with internal staff, grantees, partner organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure grant resources are administered consistently, responsibly, and in alignment with MDVA goals and the needs of Minnesota Veterans and their families.
