Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and document incoming materials and equipment for accuracy.
  • Manage inventory, track, issue and replenish stock to support operations.
  • Coordinate storage, handling, and distribution of materials and maintain organized areas.
  • Verify packing slips, shipping documents, and material certifications for completeness.
  • Conduct routine inventory counts and audits to minimize discrepancies.
  • Operate forklifts/telehandlers per safety procedures.
  • Maintain inventory records using computerized systems.
  • Work within site safety procedures and permit systems.
  • Complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing.

Take your Skills to the Next Shutdown – Now Hiring! Ledcor is hiring Materials Technician to support major shutdowns and turnarounds across Alberta’s industrial facilities.

If you excel in high-intensity outage environments where precision, teamwork, and execution speed matter, this is your opportunity to work on critical maintenance scopes that keep operations running.

This is not traditional construction—it’s fast-paced, short-duration shutdown work requiring adaptability, focus, and a strong safety mindset.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and document incoming materials and equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements
  • Manage material inventory, including tracking, issuing, and replenishing stock to support project operations
  • Coordinate the storage, handling, and distribution of materials while maintaining organized warehouse and laydown areas
  • Verify packing slips, shipping documents, and material certifications for completeness and accuracy
  • Conduct routine inventory counts and audits to maintain accurate records and minimize discrepancies
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and telehandlers in accordance with site procedures and safety requirements
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized inventory management systems
  • Work within site permit systems, safety procedures, and company policies to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Materials Technician, Materials Coordinator, Warehouseperson, or similar role in an industrial, construction, mining, or oil and gas environment
  • Experience managing inventory, shipping and receiving, and material control processes
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to read and interpret packing lists, purchase orders, material specifications, and shipping documentation
  • Previous forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment is considered an asset
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, schedule-driven environments and adapt to changing priorities
  • Willingness to work 10-12+ hour shifts, overtime, and consecutive days as required
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork

Compensation & Schedule
  • Base Wage: $34.85 to $49.78/hour (per existing CLAC agreement and applicable trade verification)
  • Overtime: 1.5x after 40 hours/week
  • Schedule: 24 days on / 4 days off or 6 days on / 1 day off
  • Hours: 12 hours/day
