Job summary

Ledcor is seeking Pipefitter Forepersons to join our team supporting major shutdowns across Alberta’s industrial facilities. This is not routine construction work. It’s high-intensity, short-duration execution where skilled tradespeople bring focus, precision, and teamwork to meet demanding turnaround timelines.

Qualifications

  • Registered Journeyperson Pipefitter certification.
  • 3-5 years experience as foreman.
  • Shutdowns, turnarounds, or outage maintenance in oil & gas or heavy industrial environments.
  • Ability to read isometrics and P&IDs.
  • Experience with time-sensitive, schedule-driven projects and shifting priorities.
  • Able to work 10-12+ hour shifts, overtime, and consecutive days during shutdowns.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and procedural compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Execute shutdown and turnaround piping scopes, including maintenance, repairs, replacements, and system tie-ins.
  • Provide daily leadership, direction, and support to Journeyperson and Apprentice Pipefitters
  • Forecast, coordinate, and oversee preventative maintenance requirements
  • Ensure the safety of the crew, equipment, and work environment
  • Adapting to changing priorities in a time-sensitive environment
  • Daily paperwork and conduct daily toolbox talks
  • Maintain high productivity and quality during extended shifts and compressed timelines
  • Maintain and update maintenance schedules, tracking systems, and documentation to ensure accurate record-keeping and effective planning
  • Coordinate and communicates with the other Foreman and Supervision to ensure the correct sequencing of operations
  • Trains, supports, and offers guidance to new employees
  • Inspects work fronts regularly and ensures schedules are followed

Essential Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in shutdowns, turnarounds, or outage maintenance in oil & gas or heavy industrial environments
  • Strong ability to read and interpret isometric drawings and P&IDs
  • Experience working on time-sensitive, schedule-driven projects with shifting priorities
  • Ability to work 10–12+ hour shifts, overtime, and consecutive days during shutdowns
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and procedural compliance
