Job summary

Weir in Wabush, NL is seeking a Warehouse Material Handler to join our onsite team on days, Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm. You will verify shipments, handle materials, and support inventory control using Oracle-based systems.

You should have a high school diploma, 2–3 years of related experience, and proficiency with MS Office. Forklift certification is a plus; we provide safety PPE and a competitive hourly wage.

What you'll do

• Shipment Verification: Verify and document incoming and outgoing shipments daily, ensuring accuracy against bills of lading, invoices, and orders to maintain precise records.
• Material Handling: Receive, store, and distribute materials, tools, and products to appropriate departments or storage areas, using manual methods or equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Inventory Management: Maintain organized inventory by sorting and placing items on racks, shelves, or designated bins, utilizing Oracle-based inventory management programs to track stock efficiently.
• Packing and Preparation: Prepare shipments by assembling, labeling, and packaging items, completing all necessary documentation to ensure smooth dispatch.
• Cross-Department Coordination: Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure timely and accurate material flow supporting warehouse operations.

Physical Requirements: Lift and move materials weighing 40-50 lbs regularly as part of daily tasks.

Success Indicators: Accuracy in shipment documentation, efficient inventory organization, timely coordination with departments, and adherence to safety standards.

What you'll bring

Must-haves:

• High school diploma or GED
• 2-3 years of related experience required for the position

Compensation: $30.00-33.00 per hour to start based on experience.
