Job summary

Weir is seeking a Warehouse Material Handler in Wabush, NL to work on-site full-time. The role runs Day Shift 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, and involves shipment verification, material handling, inventory management, packing, and cross-department coordination.

Must have a high school diploma or GED and 2-3 years of related experience; basic MS Office and Oracle inventory systems experience preferred. Safety is a priority.

Responsibilities

• Verify and document incoming and outgoing shipments daily, ensuring accuracy against bills of lading, invoices, and orders to maintain precise records.
• Receive, store, and distribute materials, tools, and products to appropriate departments or storage areas, using manual methods or equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Maintain organized inventory by sorting and placing items on racks, shelves, or designated bins, utilizing Oracle-based inventory management programs to track stock efficiently.
• Prepare shipments by assembling, labeling, and packaging items, completing all necessary documentation to ensure smooth dispatch.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure timely and accurate material flow supporting warehouse operations.
• Lift and move materials weighing 40-50 lbs regularly as part of daily tasks.
• Accuracy in shipment documentation, efficient inventory organization, timely coordination with departments, and adherence to safety standards.
• Demonstrate 100% commitment to zero harm behaviors in support of a world-class safety culture.

What you’ll do

What you’ll bring Must-haves:

• High school diploma or GED

• 2-3 years of related experience required for the position

• Basic computer skills including MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with Oracle-based inventory systems.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.

• Strong teamwork, dependability, and adaptability in a fast-paced, high volume environment.

Nice-to-haves:

• Forklift certification (preferred, training available).

• WHMIS and other safety certifications.

• Experience with packing and parts organization.

• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.

Compensation

_ Compensation: $30.00-33.00 per hour to start based on experience._
