Role Overview

Ross Video’s Manufacturing Systems team is dedicated to modernizing, scaling, and optimizing manufacturing operations using data, automation, and software solutions.

As a Manufacturing Systems Developer, you will proactively identify opportunities where data, applications, and automation can improve efficiency, quality, and scalability in manufacturing, working closely with engineers, IT/IS teams, and manufacturing managers to leverage analytics and automation as a competitive advantage.

This role is located in Iroquois, ON, approximately 1 hour south of Ottawa.

Reporting To: Manager, Manufacturing Systems

Work Lane: On-site (Monday - Friday)

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Bridge Manufacturing Teams & Systems: Liaise between manufacturing teams and systems, translating business needs into technical solutions.
  2. Educate non-technical stakeholders on how data, applications, and automation can enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  3. Promote data-driven decision-making by identifying analytics opportunities to solve manufacturing challenges.
  4. Application Development & Automation: Build and support custom applications, dashboards, and automation scripts, and integrate third-party systems and APIs.
  5. Develop scalable, maintainable applications with a balanced approach to build vs. buy decisions.
  6. Support Data Engineering & ETL Processes: Maintain ETL workflows, troubleshoot data issues, ensure data integrity, and support cloud integrations, working with on-premises databases with future cloud plans.
  7. Ensure system performance, reliability, and continuous improvement through monitoring, bug fixing, and best practices.
  8. Stay updated with emerging technologies, participate in professional development, and foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
Required Experience:
  • 3+ years in data, software development, or manufacturing IT/IS systems.
  • Experience with business intelligence, process automation, or data analytics.
  • Support and debugging of software solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python; knowledge of ETL, manufacturing systems, and database management; experience with on-premises infrastructure and cloud integrations.
  • Familiarity with API integration, system interoperability, and data automation.
Preferred Skills:
  • Problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proactive and self-motivated attitude.
