We are excited to partner with Ross Video on their search for a Manufacturing System Developer.

Role Overview

Ross Video’s Manufacturing Systems team is dedicated to modernizing, scaling, and optimizing the way manufacturing operations use data, automation, and software solutions.

As a Manufacturing Systems Developer, you won’t just respond to requests—you’ll proactively identify opportunities where data, applications, and automation can inspire efficiency, quality, and scalability in manufacturing.

You’ll work closely with engineers, IT/IS teams, and manufacturing managers to understand the full potential of analytics and automation. Your role is to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders, helping them see and use technology as a competitive advantage.

This role is located in Iroquois, ON, 1 hour south of Ottawa.

Who you will report to: Manager, Manufacturing Systems

Work lane: Work from Office (Monday - Friday)

Some of the things you will work on:

  • Bridge Manufacturing Teams & Systems: Liaison between manufacturing teams and systems, translating business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Educate non-technical stakeholders on how data, applications, and automation can improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Advocate for data-driven decision-making, identifying opportunities where analytics can solve real manufacturing problems.
  • Application Development & Automation: Build and support custom applications, dashboards, and automation scripts.
  • Integrate third-party systems and manufacturing software APIs to enable seamless data flow.
  • Develop applications with a balanced “build vs. buy” mindset, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
  • Support Data Engineering & ETL Processes: Maintain ETL processes, troubleshoot data workflows, ensure data integrity, and support cloud integrations.
  • Work with on-premises databases and infrastructure, with future cloud integrations in mind.
  • Ensure data integrity, reliability, and performance in manufacturing data systems.
  • System Support & Continuous Improvement: Monitor system performance, diagnose and fix bugs, follow software development best practices, and optimize system reliability.
  • Work proactively to optimize performance and reliability of systems in production.
  • Continuous Learning & Innovation: Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering.
  • Research and evaluate new tools, experiment with new technologies to enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in conferences, training programs, and professional development to continuously expand technical and industry knowledge.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence, sharing insights and best practices with the team.

You should have experience with:

  • 3+ years with data, software development, or manufacturing IT/IS systems.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools, process automation, or data analytics.
  • Prior experience supporting and debugging software solutions.
  • Education & Core Skills: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and Python; knowledge of ETL processes and manufacturing systems, database management, on-premise (future cloud integrations).
  • Familiarity with API integration, system interoperability, and data flow automation.
  • Bonus: Experience with C# and Angular (for supporting legacy systems).
