Job summary

Rev Engineering Ltd. (doing business as Rev Power Solutions) in Calgary seeks a Manufacturing Project Estimator to prepare estimates and propose technical solutions that meet customer RFPs.

You will work with sales, engineering, purchasing, and quality to deliver accurate quotations. The role requires 2 years in electrical project estimating, familiarity with switchgear, substations and PDU products, and strong MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Estimate material take-offs and labour to produce accurate quotations.
• Review specifications to ensure technical design requirements are met in REV’s proposals.
• Coordinate with engineering, design, purchasing, quality and management to produce quotations.
• Work with purchasing to obtain vendor/contractor quotations.
• Create proposal documents and schedule proposal reviews for client submittals.
• Ensure proposals are completed on time and engage required team members.

Job description

Position Overview:

Working with the entire project team, from sales to engineering, the Manufacturing Project Estimator will prepare estimates and propose technical solutions that meet our customers request for proposal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the estimating of REV’s manufactured products which includes coordinating with REV’s engineering and design, purchasing, quality and management to produce an accurate quotation.
• Estimating tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Review of specifications to ensure technical design requirements are met in REV’s proposal submittals.
• Estimate (material take off and labour).
• Work with REV’s purchasing department to obtain quotations from vendors and contractors.
• Communication with clients through sales to ensure the requirements are met.
• Creation of proposal documents, and scheduling of proposal review for client submittal.
• Completing proposals based on timeline requirements ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Responsible for engaging all required team members

Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience with electrical project estimating required.
• 2 years of experience in Electrical Manufacturing, specifically Switchgear, Substations and PDU products.
• Technologist Diploma, Electrical Engineering Technologist (EET) or equivalent an asset.
• Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks in order to meet firm deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Mathematical competency.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills (English).
