Job summary

Rev Engineering Ltd. (doing business as Rev Power Solutions) is seeking a Field Service Representative in Calgary, AB to execute field service projects across oil, gas, coal, industrial and commercial facilities.

You will lead testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of electrical distribution systems and mentor junior staff. This full-time role requires a electrical engineering degree or equivalent, 5–10+ years field experience, travel willingness and strong reporting skills; startup testing,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technologist or Electrician/Power System Electrician Journeyman certificate required.
  • 5-10+ years of electrical field service experience with leadership or project management responsibilities required.
  • Extensive experience with start-up testing and commissioning of new electrical distribution systems as well as maintenance of existing electrical distribution systems required.
  • Technical skills such as protection relay programming and testing, doble SFRA and oil sample analysis required.
  • Experience with SEL, GE, and Basler relays considered an asset.
  • Experience with retrofits and modernization of existing equipment is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Omicron, and Manta test sets considered an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, generate reports, and interpret insights.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize effectively.Critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work full-time or in shifts.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, or overtime as required.

Responsibilities

  • Field Service work with an emphasis on complex testing capabilities and interpretation of test results.
  • Testing of microprocessor protective relays (Schweitzer, GE Multilin, etc.).
  • Doble testing of electrical equipment (transformers, circuit breakers, CT/PT’s, etc.).
  • Completion of electrical switching procedures, and clearance for isolation of more complex electrical systems.
  • Coordination of routine and moderately complex projects independently of Supervisors.
  • Trouble shooting of electrical circuits and providing support to other field staff in emergency situations.
  • Being involved in the 24hr emergency response rotation with REV.
  • Preparation of technical reports for completed services at client facilities.
  • Providing leadership and mentoring to junior field service personnel in technical training, company safety, and in keeping junior field staff productive.
  • Completion of time sheets, time tickets, expenses and vehicle logs, as well as other office requirements as per Company Policy.
  • Completion of care and maintenance of REV assets (test equipment, tools, vehicles, facility, etc.).
  • Completing job duties as outlined by Supervisors and Project Managers so as to meet client requirements.
  • Coordination of larger projects independently of Supervisors and Project Managers.
  • Requisitioning of job material for project requirements.
  • Design, field installation and commissioning of project.
  • Completion and management of field service projects from start to finish.
  • Development and management of client relationships.

Position Overview

The Field Service Representative is responsible for the successful completion of field service projects to which you are assigned, as well as visits to customer facilities in a variety of market segments which include facilities such as Oil and Gas sites, Coal mines, Industrial facilities, and commercial properties.
