Job summary

Interfor Belledune in New Brunswick offers an Operations Intern position for a May start. This on-site internship supports a 4- to 8-month term, giving hands-on exposure to a modern sawmill and manufacturing environment.

You will work with experienced operations professionals, analyze data, participate in process improvement projects, and develop leadership and problem-solving skills while pursuing a related degree.

Qualifications

• You are working toward a degree or diploma in related programs such as Wood Products Processing, Business, Operations Management, Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical), or Supply Chain.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment without compromise.
• Curious, hands-on, and eager to learn how a manufacturing operation works.
• Clear communication and ability to collaborate with multiple teams and departments.
• Comfortable reviewing information, asking questions, and helping solve problems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and learn how a modern sawmill operates.
• Explore production processes and how teams work together to safely produce quality wood products.
• Contribute to projects focused on process improvement, operational efficiency, and production performance.
• Analyze data and observations to identify opportunities for improvement across mill operations.
• Work alongside experienced operations professionals while building leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
