Job summary

Vecima Networks Inc. is seeking a Cost Accountant to analyze and report on manufacturing and operational costs across the organization.

You’ll work with operations, procurement, inventory, and finance to ensure accurate product costing, variance analysis, and financial reporting. Responsibilities include maintaining standard costs, analyzing production costs, investigating variances, and preparing monthly cost reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• CPA designation preferred or in progress.
• 3-5+ years of accounting or cost accounting experience.
• Experience in manufacturing environments preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, JDE, or similar.
• Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, Power Query, financial modeling).
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Knowledge of internal controls and financial reporting processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update standard costs for products, materials, and labor.
• Analyze actual production costs and compare against standard costs.
• Investigate and explain purchase price, labor, manufacturing, and inventory variances.
• Perform margin and profitability analysis by product, customer, and business segment.
• Support inventory valuation and cost allocation methodologies.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly cost accounting reports.
• Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Analyze overhead and absorption rates.
• Support internal and external audits.
