Job summary

gategroup Canada is seeking a results‑driven Logistics Manager to lead KPI tracking, inventory controls and supplier coordination in Dorval, Quebec.

You will standardize workflows, supervise physical inventories, optimize inbound/outbound logistics, and partner with senior management to improve safety, quality and compliance while meeting airline specifications.

This role requires strong analytics, SAP expertise and a collaborative approach.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Post-secondary education in logistics or related field preferred.
  • SAP experience is a strong asset.
  • Manufacturing, logistics or supply chain experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Track, report and improve KPIs for areas of responsibility.
  • Lead material variance analysis and implement reduction strategies.
  • Standardize and document workflows to boost efficiency.
  • Lead physical inventories and manage inbound/outbound logistics.
  • Interface with senior management with recommendations.
  • Urgent, cross‑department coordination to meet operational needs.
  • Define activities supporting productivity, safety, and quality.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs for continuous improvement.
  • Forecast demand and consumption; ensure safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with maintenance for preventive upkeep and repairs.
  • Evaluate performance and provide coaching; liaise with HR.
  • Use SAP and in-house tools to determine purchasing needs.
  • Monitor requisitions, accuracy, fulfillment and delivery.
  • Audit vendor invoices prior to payment and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure SOPs for safety, storage and food safety are followed.

Description du poste Fonctions et responsabilités essentielles: Assurer le suivi, produire des rapports et améliorer les indicateurs clés de performance (KPI) des secteurs sous sa responsabilité. Jouer un rôle de premier plan dans l’identification des écarts significatifs et élaborer des stratégies adaptées pour éliminer ou réduire les écarts futurs. Standardiser et documenter les processus de travail afin d’améliorer l’efficacité. Diriger les inventaires physiques. Coordonner les services logistiques entrants et sortants. Interagir avec la haute direction en formulant des suggestions et des recommandations. Travailler avec un sens constant de l’urgence en collaboration avec tous les gestionnaires de département. Définir, communiquer et mettre en œuvre des activités visant à soutenir les exigences opérationnelles, la productivité, le contrôle des matières, la salubrité alimentaire ainsi que la santé et la sécurité. Suivre et développer des KPI appropriés afin de s’assurer que le département répond aux attentes et de cerner les occasions d’amélioration continue. Créer et réviser les prévisions de la demande et de la consommation. Assurer la conformité en matière de sécurité, de qualité, de spécifications des clients, d’exigences réglementaires ainsi que des politiques et procédures de l’entreprise. Collaborer avec le personnel de maintenance afin d’assurer l’entretien préventif des équipements selon les calendriers établis et signaler rapidement les besoins en entretien et en réparation. Être responsable de l’évaluation du rendement, du coaching, de l’encadrement, des mesures correctives pour les employés et assurer une liaison appropriée avec les Ressources humaines et les autres fonctions de soutien. Utiliser SAP ainsi que les outils internes afin de déterminer les besoins d’approvisionnement. Surveiller les réquisitions afin d’en assurer l’exactitude, l’exécution et la livraison. Vérifier et valider l’exactitude des factures fournisseurs avant leur paiement. Assurer l’exactitude des niveaux d’inventaire dans le système SAP. Veiller au respect de toutes les procédures opérationnelles normalisées (PON/SOP) de l’entreprise relatives à la sécurité, à l’entreposage et à la salubrité alimentaire. Maintenir une connaissance pratique des spécifications des produits. Responsable de l'achat de tous les produits alimentaires et fournitures d'équipement conformément aux spécifications de la compagnie aérienne et aux fournisseurs approuvés. / Responsible for purchasing all food products and equipment supplies according to airline specifications and approved suppliers.

Job Description:
  • Track, report and improve key performance indicators for areas of responsibility
  • Take a lead role in identifying material variances and coming up with applicable strategies to eliminate / reduce future variances
  • Standardize and document workflow processes to improve efficiency
  • Lead physical inventories
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics services
  • Interface with senior management bringing suggestions and recommendations
  • Work with consistent urgency in coordination with all Department Managers
  • Define, communicate and implement activities to support operational requirements, productivity, material controls, food safety, and health and safety
  • Monitor / develop appropriate KPIs to ensure the department is executing on expectations and to seek opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Create / review demand forecasting and consumption
  • Responsible for safety, quality and compliance to customer specifications and regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
  • Work with maintenance staff to ensure preventive maintenance of machinery according to schedules, reports maintenance and repair issues in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for performance evaluation, coaching, counseling, and corrective action for employees and liaises appropriately with HR and other support functions.
  • Utilize SAP along with in-house tools to determine purchasing requirements.
  • Monitor requisitions for accuracy, fulfillment and delivery.
  • Audits and ensures accuracy of vendor invoices prior to payment.
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory levels within SAP system.
  • Ensure all company SOP's relating to safety, storage and Food Safety are followed.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of product specifications.
Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required and is comparative to Canadian standards
  • Post-secondary education in a related field preferred i.e. logistics, supply chain
  • SAP experience is a strong asset
Work Experience:
  • Manufacturing, logistics, supply chain management experience required
  • Strong inventory control experience required
  • Previous experience working with an Internal Delivery System (IDS) required
Job Skills:
  • Superior analytical & problem solving skills
  • Strong PC skills including MS Excel
  • Sound knowledge of all transportation modes and general warehouse and distribution practices
Communication Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written & oral
