As a pre-sales function, the Manager, Strategic Proposals is responsible for ensuring TELUS Health provides complete, responsive, high-quality, competitive, compliant, and on-time proposal responses to our customers. The role provides leadership, direction, and support to the proposal team. It plays a critical project management and quality assurance role for strategic, high-value proposals impacting organizational revenue and profitability. This role also leads the content management team, responsible for maintaining our content library.

What You’ll Do
  1. Analyze and evaluate RFx requirements and manage team assignments.
  2. Monitor proposal progress and address delays or deficiencies.
  3. Collaborate with legal, risk, and other teams on opportunity considerations.
  4. Participate in recruitment, evaluation, interviewing, and onboarding of new hires.
  5. Identify and manage training opportunities for proposal management staff.
  6. Own onboarding and training for new hires, providing ongoing coaching.
  7. Contribute to proposal team development and act as a role model for tools and processes.
  8. Enhance proposal tools and processes to improve document quality.
  9. Lead content management, including development, implementation, and maintenance of content library.
  10. Continuously improve content management processes, staying current with industry best practices.
  11. Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
Qualifications

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and professionalism.
  • Experience recognizing customer needs and business benefits.
  • Ability to build relationships across business units.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; bilingual preferred.
  • 3-5 years of industry and proposal management experience.
  • APMP certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Google Suite, and RFP software.
Leadership
  • Ability to lead teams, set expectations, and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Strong leadership skills in virtual and dynamic environments.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and content management tools.
  • High integrity, initiative, and commitment.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize under pressure.
  • Self-starting, proactive, with attention to detail.
