About the job

At the Ontario Public Service, we hold our leaders to the highest standards, expecting them to embody authenticity, accountability, and courage in every action and decision. As a leader, you'll be at the forefront of creating a dynamic work environment that sparks innovation, fosters collaboration, and champions inclusivity. We value a diverse, anti-racist, and accessible workplace where everyone feels safe and respected. By embracing these values, you'll help build a vibrant team culture where every individual can thrive. Your leadership will inspire and motivate your team to achieve their best, aligning their efforts with our strategic vision.

As Manager of the Strategic Data and Governance Unit, you will lead the development and implementation of MMAH's enterprise-wide Data and Analytics Strategy. Your work will lay the foundation for stronger connections between data, policy, and service delivery while supporting a more coordinated, inclusive, and informed public service.

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Establish ministry-wide data governance and management frameworks that promote consistent, responsible use of data to support informed decision-making.
  • Improve access to timely and high-quality data by enhancing infrastructure and architecture while maintaining privacy and security standards.
  • Offer consultation and support for internal data initiatives to improve project design, delivery, and responsiveness to evolving needs.
  • Build data literacy and capacity across the ministry through training and resources that equip staff to confidently apply data in their work.
  • Collaborate across divisions and with IT partners to align data strategies, reduce duplication, and support innovation through scalable systems.

Meet Your New Team

You'll be joining the Data and Analytics Branch within the Housing Policy and Planning Division, a branch committed to using data to inform thoughtful, people-centred policy and service design. The team provides analysis, insight, and reporting to support housing and municipal initiatives across Ontario.

This is a newly created unit within the branch, and you'll have the opportunity to shape its direction, culture, and ways of working. You'll collaborate closely with policy and program teams, IT partners, and leadership across the ministry to turn ideas into impact.

We value inclusive leadership, learning, and collaboration. Your contributions will help create stronger systems and better support for Ontarians through thoughtful data use.

Ready to Make an Impact?

If you are motivated by purpose and interested in helping shape how data supports decisions and public value, this role offers an opportunity to make a real difference. Join us in building a collaborative and inclusive environment where data practices support programs, policies, and outcomes that matter to people and communities across Ontario.
