As a Strategic Solutions Manager within the Business Modernization team at Canada Life, you will play a critical role in leading modernization initiatives. This includes leading Business Analysts in analyzing business needs, defining requirements, implementing and optimizing workflow solutions, intelligent document processing, and overall automation frameworks for key business processes. Working closely with the AVP of Optimization & Enablement, business stakeholders, technology teams, and cross-functional partners, you will ensure modernization solutions consider all details of the associated business processes and proactively address risks, business, and technical impacts with appropriate mitigation strategies. The role focuses on delivering business value and meeting customer and employee needs.

What You Will Do
  1. Demonstrate thought leadership, initiative, and possess strong analytical, communication, management, planning, and facilitation skills.
  2. Work comfortably in ambiguous and evolving environments, proactively identifying opportunities and bringing structure to complex challenges.
  3. Build strong, collaborative relationships at all organizational levels.
  4. Guide and support Business and Technical Teams on modernization initiatives.
  5. Collaborate with business and IT teams to ensure seamless solution integration.
  6. Evaluate existing processes and recommend enhancements, optimizations, and automation opportunities.
  7. Support governance, compliance, and audit requirements for automation.
  8. Lead Agile sessions, review and enhance user stories, oversee user acceptance testing, and advise on training and change management.
  9. Facilitate remote and in-person working sessions with stakeholders.
  10. Mentor Lead and Senior Business Analysts.
What You Will Bring
  1. Understanding of Technology and Agile development, applying best practices in process redesign and change management.
  2. Project management skills including task breakdown, prioritization, planning, ownership clarification, and risk management.
  3. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to build consensus across stakeholders.
  4. Deep understanding of business processes and stakeholder needs to implement effective redesigns.
  5. Ability to identify and manage project interdependencies.
  6. Innovative thinking to challenge the status quo and develop out-of-the-box solutions.
  7. A business-centric mindset to solve complex problems and focus on outcomes like productivity, customer, and employee experience improvements.
Qualifications
  1. 5+ years of experience in business analysis, process improvement, or related roles.
  2. Expertise in requirements gathering, process modeling, and stakeholder management.
  3. Ability to operate in ambiguous environments with incomplete information.
  4. Experience in financial services, insurance, or investments is an asset.
  5. Proficiency with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Experience working in agile environments.

The base salary ranges from $76,400.00 to $141,400.00 annually, excluding variable components like bonuses or commissions. Further details will be discussed during the recruitment process.
