Job description

The Reporting Development Manager is responsible for ensuring data quality, as well as delivering reporting and analytics support through effective leadership of their team. This role will be critical in leading the reporting functions, ensuring data integrity and driving data-driven decision-making throughout Sym-Tech.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide leadership and management to the reporting team, offering guidance, mentorship and support to ensure objectives are met.
  2. Develop and maintain comprehensive reporting solutions using Power BI, SQL Server, SSIS, and SSRS and emerging technologies to support data integrity, business operations and strategic decision-making.
  3. Oversee data integration processes, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across multiple sources.
  4. Collaborate closely with various business units to understand their reporting needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements.
  5. Continuously enhance reporting processes and systems.
  6. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all reporting processes.
  7. Day-to-day engagement with information technology application delivery and support teams to ensure that all delivery milestones are met.
  8. Effectively assign and manage resources for project related tasks.
  9. Champion and demonstrate the reduction of technical debt.
  10. Ensure essential procedures are followed and improve consistently.
  11. Prepare estimates for completing projects and seek timely approval.
  12. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made and escalate, manage and report issues with transparency.
  13. Ensure the team responds to help desk requests in a timely fashion. Work closely with IT Help Desk, DevOps, and other IT teams to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
  14. Drive a high level of customer service.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  2. A broad understanding of business technologies, standards, applications and solutions relevant to a mid-size corporation.
  3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in reporting and data analysis.
  4. Minimum of 5 years of relevant Microsoft enterprise full stack solution development & technologies experience.
  5. Minimum 5 years of people management experience.
  6. Proven experience with Power BI, SQL Server, SSIS and SSRS.
  7. Strong proficiency in SQL and database management.
  8. Experience with ETL processes using SSIS.
  9. Knowledge of SSRS for creating and managing reports.
  10. Experience on design of Microsoft Azure cloud technologies.
  11. In depth knowledge of project management methods and tools.
  12. Certified Scrum Master certificate is an asset.
  13. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.

  4. Strong English written and verbal communication skills (French an asset).
