Job summary

RBC is seeking a Manager, Regional Support Team in Toronto to lead a trusted group delivering trust and estate services. You will coach officers, manage performance, and spearhead succession planning while balancing regional needs with national standards.

You will oversee client issue resolution, ensure AML and regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across processes, technology, and operations. A strong leader is essential to cultivate talent and deliver exceptional service.

Qualifications

  • 4-7 years of client service and/or management experience in Trust & Estate operations.
  • University degree and professional designations (TEP, CSC) or equivalent.
  • Advanced knowledge of personal trust products and related laws.
  • Ability to manage complex family dynamics and communicate about investment, estate, and tax matters.
  • Strong people development skills and ability to coach and build talent.
  • Technological literacy and proficient with standard computer systems.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage and coach Estate & Trust Officers in training and Regional Support Team Administrators; conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual performance discussions and develop team capability.
  • Drive succession planning and recruitment with Regional Manager to build future officers.
  • Resolve client concerns promptly at first contact and improve client experience.
  • Maintain adherence to policies, regulations, and AML requirements; coach team on standards.
  • Manage a small book of accounts and ensure engagement with operational and tech processes.
  • Lead organizational change and foster cross-team collaboration.

What is the opportunity?

Lead RBC Royal Trust’s regional support operations as Manager, Regional Support Team. You’ll oversee a dynamic team delivering exceptional trust and estate services, develop junior talent into future officers, and ensure operational excellence while balancing national consistency with regional flexibility. This role offers significant impact on team development, client satisfaction, and regional performance within a market-leading wealth management organization.

What will you do?
  • Directly manage and coach Estate and Trust Officers in training and Regional Support Team Administrators, conducting regular performance reviews and identifying development opportunities

  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual performance management discussions, providing constructive feedback and building team capability

  • Actively manage succession planning and recruitment initiatives in partnership with the Regional Manager to develop future officer-level talent

  • Ensure all client concerns are resolved promptly and effectively, demonstrating ownership at first point of contact and driving continuous improvement in client experience

  • Maintain adherence to all applicable policies, government regulations, and anti-money laundering requirements, coaching team members on technical and policy standards

  • Manage a small book of accounts to ensure active engagement in operational and technological processes within the team

  • Successfully execute organizational change while supporting and coaching employees through transitions, fostering collaboration across internal partners

  • Build strong, high-functioning teams with complementary strengths based on ability, behaviour, and diversity, while maintaining accountability and operational excellence

What do you need to succeed?
Must haves:
  • 4-7 years of experience in a client service and/or management role, preferably in Trust & Estate operations

  • University degree, TEP (Trust and Estate Planner) designation or equivalent, and Canadian Securities Course

  • Advanced knowledge of personal trust products, services, and Common Law/Civil Code relative to Estate, Trust, and Agency business

  • Demonstrated ability in managing complex personal and family dynamics, conflict resolution, and communication about investment, estate, and taxation issues

  • Strong people development skills with proven ability to coach, identify talent, and create environments where excellence is celebrated

  • Technological literacy and proficiency with standard computer systems and software

Nice-to-have:
  • Additional professional development or certifications in wealth management or trust administration

  • Experience managing operational and reputational risk in financial services

  • Knowledge of RBC Royal Trust products and services across multiple regions

  • Demonstrated success leading through organizational change initiatives

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate’s experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$67,000.00 - $110,000.00
