Job description

What is the opportunity? In this role, you will be responsible for managing and executing events for the Advisor Channel Sales team (ACS), RBC Global Asset Management (GAM), and will report into the Associate Director, Program & Events. You will work on in-person, virtual, and hybrid events for internal and external clients, as well as advisor programs such as Continuing Education (CE) credit offerings, a national Portfolio Manager access process, and administrative tasks to support the overall team. You will often be the first point of contact with internal partners and external clients and work directly with members of the ACS Leadership Team.

This role is based in our Toronto offices, with a combination of in-office (minimum 3 days/week) and remote work.

What will you do?
  1. Project management of overall events to deliver engaging in-person, virtual, and hybrid events.
  2. Build and maintain critical paths, tasks, and timelines, including assessing at-risk deliverables and driving internal committee meetings.
  3. Develop programs including sourcing, agenda development, managing floor plans and venue space, and managing scope and execution with internal and external partners.
  4. Manage event budgets, including building and monitoring budgets, providing financial updates, making recommendations, and post-event reconciliation.
  5. Collaborate with team members, internal departments, and external vendors demonstrating leadership skills.
  6. Lead compliance reviews, approvals, and reconciliation for Dealer Conferences/Events, coops, and sponsored events.
What do you need to succeed? Must Have
  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in meeting planning/event management, preferably in the financial industry.
  2. Technologically savvy with Webex (Meetings, Webinars, Teams), Aventri, and Salesforce; experience with audio-visual providers for various event formats.
  3. Flexible hours depending on event schedules; occasional extended hours and travel.
Nice to Have
  • Knowledge of the Canadian investment business, sales processes, and regulations such as NI 81-105.
