Purpose of the position

Manage and lead a team of employees working on track construction projects, providing leadership for safety, service, and productivity. Railway experience is preferred; candidates with 5+ years of thermite and/or flash butt welding experience are ideal.

  • Mentor an average of 12 direct reports to improve efficiency and accountability.
  • This position involves 100% travel (expenses covered by CPKC), on an 8 on, 6 off schedule.
  • Territory covers Chapleau to Dorian and ending in Windsor.
  • Review planned capital work, confirm material and execution requirements.
  • Ensure CPKC regulatory compliance for track projects.
  • Promote and implement CPKC policies, safety practices, and procedures.
  • Participate in developing and implementing work processes for continuous improvement.
Position requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Construction and/or manufacturing management background considered in lieu of railway experience.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in Track Renewal / Maintenance preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Red Book, SPC's, GEI.
  • Ability to lead project plans and schedules.
  • People leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
