Job Responsibilities

• Promote a work environment based on fairness and concern for people, aligned with the Magna Employee Charter.
• Lead, manage, support, and direct department staff through goal setting, performance reviews, communication, and training.
• Maintain effective staffing levels, create succession plans, and employee development plans to meet current and future needs.
• Develop and execute an annual strategic plan supporting company performance and industry trends.
• Promote standardization, cycle time adherence, and continuous improvement activities like Kaizen and implementation of the Magna Production System.
• Monitor department data for effectiveness, benchmarking, and trend analysis to establish improvement actions.
• Develop and update processes to meet changing business demands.
• Facilitate effective communication via department meetings and an open-door policy.
• Ensure visibility and accessibility to employees through Management by Walking Around (MBWA).
• Manage department budget and ensure objectives are met.
• Lead initiatives to improve assembly efficiency and effectiveness, maintain schedule attainment, and ensure product quality.
• Support production pillars and employee training processes.
• Encourage employee involvement and utilize employee opinion surveys to ensure fair treatment.
• Participate in safety programs, conduct workplace inspections, and address unsafe acts or conditions.
• Perform other duties as required.
