Job summary

Cameco invites applications for a senior operations leader to head the multi-disciplinary team at the Key Lake mill. You will drive safe, reliable production, develop a world-class operations group, and align site goals with the broader senior leadership team.

You will monitor budgets, lead plant upgrades, oversee ore reception and mill production, and mentor site leaders to reach their full potential, while maintaining high safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in a technical field or diploma and equivalent experience.
• 15 years combined experience in an industrial setting.
• 5 years of experience in a senior supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control mill budget and control department expenditures including material requirements and equipment.
• Lead and support operations and technical teams through plant upgrades and technological advancements.

Reporting to the Key Lake General Manager, you will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary operations team to safely and reliably operate the mill, meeting production commitments while steadily seeking to improve reliability and predictability of operations. You will set your departments up for success by developing a world class team of operations leaders. As a part of the Key Lake senior leadership team, you will be responsible for setting overall site goals.

In this role, you will:

• Monitor and control mill budget and control department expenditures including material requirements and equipment.
• Lead and support operations and technical teams through plant upgrades and technological advancements.
• Plan and oversee ore receiving and mill production activities.
• Plan and set annual department goals relating to safety and ensure that high safety and environmental standards are maintained.
• Coach and mentor site leaders to develop their full potential.

Required:

• bachelor in a technical field or a diploma and equivalent experience;
• 15 years of combined experience in an industrial setting;
• five years of experience in a senior supervisory role; and
• work an irregular schedule, Monday to Thursday, and commute to site by aircraft.

Recommended:

• uranium milling technical experience; and P. Eng.
