Job summary

Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran is seeking a Mill Operator 3 – Grinding Area Operator to join the McIlvenna Bay team. The role trains on SAG and ball mills, monitors grinding performance, and ensures quality control while maintaining safety protocols.

The position offers a full-time 14/14 rotation at McIlvenna Bay, with comprehensive health benefits and a path for career growth within a major copper project advancing toward production in 2026.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mineral processing is an asset.
  • Minimum 18 months of milling experience, including at least 6 months as a Grinding Area Operator in a processing plant.
  • Knowledge of grinding principles, equipment operation, and mineral-processing techniques.
  • Flotation experience is a strong asset.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, process parameters, and quality specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, teamwork, and basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate SAG and ball mills, including hydrocyclones and vibrating screens, to achieve target particle size.
  • Monitor and adjust feed rates and settings to optimize grinding efficiency and quality.
  • Support Met Lab with sampling and quality checks.
  • Perform routine maintenance: lubrication, cleaning, and part replacements.
  • Report equipment issues to Supervisor or Control Room for prompt repair.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE.
  • Apply dust control and environmental best practices.
  • Communicate with team members to coordinate operations.
  • Maintain accurate logs of process data and maintenance tasks.
  • Know emergency shutdown procedures and act quickly in emergencies.
  • Take part in ongoing training on equipment, safety, and best practices.

Mill Operator 3 - Grinding Area Operator – 2026-123

Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran (TSX:ELD) is seeking a Mill Operator 3 - Grinding Area Operator to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 14/14 rotation.

As part of the Mill Processing Plant Team, the Grinding Area Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining grinding equipment, including SAG and ball mills, to reduce mineral ores to the required particle size for downstream processing. The operator will monitor performance, perform routine maintenance, and assist with quality control sampling.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $44.50/hr with an additional 10% annual bonus
