Job summary

Cameco Corporation is seeking an Industrial Mechanic for both surface and underground maintenance roles at our mining site in Canada. The role requires diagnosing and repairing equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and documenting work performed to ensure reliability and safety.

The ideal candidate holds a Saskatchewan/inter-provincial journeyperson industrial mechanic ticket, 3–5 years of industrial experience, and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or equivalent required.
  • Valid Saskatchewan or inter-provincial journeyperson industrial mechanic ticket.
  • Three to five years of industrial experience.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent safety record.
  • Underground and surface work; night shift and site travel by aircraft.

Responsibilities

  • Perform predictive and preventative maintenance checks.
  • Complete repairs and overhauls on equipment and piping systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and document repairs.

Position and Responsibilities

  • Perform predictive and preventative maintenance checks on a regular basis to ensure safe and reliable production.
  • Complete repairs and overhauls on equipment and piping systems on surface and underground as required.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and document repairs.

There are multiple regular and temporary vacancies available.

Education and Qualifications

Requirements of the position:

  • grade 12 or equivalent;
  • valid Saskatchewan or inter-provincial journeyperson industrial mechanic ticket;
  • three to five years of industrial experience;
  • ability to work independently and in a team environment;
  • excellent safety record;
  • required to work both underground and on surface; and
  • work a rotational schedule, including night shift and commute to site by aircraft.

Assets:

  • previous mill maintenance experience; and
  • familiarity with SAP.

Conditions of Employment:

  • trade verification; and
  • pre- employment substance test.

Safety Sensitive Site

This position is eligible for the employee referral bonus.

Rate per hour: $68.08
