Job summary

Canada Life is seeking a Manager, Growth Strategy to help translate CAS’ long‑term priorities into actionable plans and to drive cross‑organizational strategies in London, Ontario. You will partner with senior leaders to ensure governance and disciplined execution of the strategic agenda with measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of finance, management consulting or corporate strategy experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, or Business preferred.
  • Experience in managing enterprise-wide strategy and planning an asset.
  • Self-starter with high motivational level, intellectual curiosity, and openness to learning.
  • Strong business acumen, with demonstrated aptitude for strategic, analytical and critical thinking.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including financial analysis, research and complex modeling.
  • Expert in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; expertise in think‑cell is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the AVP, Growth Strategy and Enablement and CAS leadership and the broader Canada Life organization in the development of our long-term vision for CAS, and within our core pillars.
  • Drive strategic growth opportunities for CAS, including client segmentation, long‑term AI strategy, as well as broader capability enhancement, investment, and experimentation strategy and execution roadmap.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive developments, customer expectations and market dynamics to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
  • Play a key role in disseminating our strategy to key Canada Life stakeholders, ensuring that strategy translates into clear business plans, with measurable outcomes.
  • Provide support for the annual planning and prioritization process, including management of CAS’ initiative budget, ensuring the effective allocation of resources and investments.
  • Provide overall coordination support for CAS’ ongoing engagement and planning cycle with other key stakeholders, including audits, compliance reviews, and other assignments as required

Client Advisory Services (CAS) is a key driver of Canada Life’s long‑term growth, working alongside our Workplace, Wealth and Insurance businesses to provide clients and plan members with personalized advice and meaningful solutions. CAS is focused on building deeper relationships with end clients and plan members by expanding opportunities through our employee advisors. Our team brings together several specialized teams—Freedom Experience (licensed retirement and insurance specialists), the Financial Solutions Centre and Continuum (collaborative, team‑based financial advice), and Pinnacle (advisor succession and business transition support).

We are hiring aManager, Growth Strategy, reporting to the AVP, Growth Strategy and Enablement. In this role, you will support our ambitions by contributing to CAS’ strategic growth planning. You will help translate long‑term priorities into actionable plans and advance cross‑organizational strategies. Working closely with the AVP and partnering with senior leaders across the enterprise, you will ensure strong governance, cross‑functional coordination, and disciplined execution of CAS’ strategic agenda.

What you will do
  • Partner with the AVP, Growth Strategy and Enablement and CAS leadership and the broader Canada Life organization in the development of our long-term vision for CAS, and within our core pillars (Individual Wealth, Retirement and Savings, Insurance and Benefits)
  • Drive strategic growth opportunities for CAS, including client segmentation, long‑term AI strategy, as well as broader capability enhancement, investment, and experimentation strategy and execution roadmap
    • Identify, prioritize, and accelerate potential strategic partnership opportunities with vendors
    • Provide business casing and presentation support
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive developments, customer expectations and market dynamics to identify opportunities for innovation and growth
  • Play a key role in disseminating our strategy to key Canada Life stakeholders, ensuring that strategy translates into clear business plans, with measurable outcomes
    • Contribute to preparation of materials for senior leadership and other high‑impact forums ensuring clear, concise, and impactful communications
    • Provide presentation, meeting, and strategy implementation support, including PowerPoint materials and driving overall storylining and ideation
  • Provide support for the annual planning and prioritization process, including management of CAS’ initiative budget, ensuring the effective allocation of resources and investments
  • Provide overall coordination support for CAS’ ongoing engagement and planning cycle with other key stakeholders, including audits, compliance reviews, and other assignments as required
What you will bring
  • 5+ years of finance, management consulting or corporate strategy experience

The base salary for this position is between $102,000 - $152,000 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
