A career as a Manager, Financing Solutions in the Commercial Banking team at National Bank involves providing strategic and operational leadership for the account specialist team, focusing on business opportunities < $2MM. This role includes credit underwriting, monitoring, and adjudication within a diversified commercial banking portfolio. It offers the opportunity to impact the organization positively by implementing credit policies, conducting credit reviews, and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.

Responsibilities include:

1. Leading the Specialist team to achieve branch financial goals for business opportunities under $2MM through effective credit underwriting and deal approval, balancing risk and reward according to NBC’s risk appetite.
2. Supporting the team in identifying full-service solutions and referring clients to other NBC lines of business to become their primary financial partner.
3. Developing strategies to deepen business relationships with existing clients.
4. Optimizing profitability of relationships based on return guidelines, customer risk profiles, and overall banking relationships.
5. Acting as a credit SME, staying informed on industry and market trends, and structuring credit accordingly.
6. Managing credit activities prudently, including timely monitoring, due diligence, and risk management, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and operational standards.
7. Leading team adherence to policies and procedures, maintaining satisfactory audit and compliance standards.

Team and Work Environment:

You will be part of a team of 7 in the Commercial Banking sector, reporting to a Senior Manager. Our team is known for exceptional service, support, and a collaborative environment, with flexible working arrangements including hybrid work and adaptable hours.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in commerce, finance, or accounting, with relevant experience.
• Knowledge of risk management, banking, and business lending functions.
• Experience in commercial credit underwriting across various industries, with leadership and coaching experience.
